Today Alya latched and sucked steadily on my right breast for almost 20 minutes. I could hear her swallowing; her eyes were open; she was enjoying it and getting food from me. It was the best feeling ever!! No nursing aids or anything. This is what I’ve been dreaming of. Still have stages and steps to go before we are fully breastfeeding and not supplementing, but that’s okay. This was a glimpse of how blissful it will be, and also lets me know that it IS possible, with HER and ME working together. Yay!!!
Thanks continue to go out to the generous women who are donating extra pumped milk so we can keep her growing while my supply builds up. It is truly one of the most precious gifts I have ever received.
