Good food

Finally, I actually felt like cooking tonight! A combo of the hot weather and pregnancy stomach means I haven’t been into food preparation – or even eating – very much lately. And Mondays are particularly hard as I get home at 5 and have yoga at 6. But for some reason, on the way home tonight I started thinking about food, wanting food, making food.
I cooked up the lentils we’d had soaking for a couple of days (about 2 cups) with a half-cup of chopped onions, salt, 1/2 cup of chopped cashews, and some spices: salt, about 4 tbsp curry, 2 tbsp turmeric, 2 tsp amchoor powder, and a good sprinkle of cayenne. In contrast with my old other curried lentils, this actually tasted great!! With some yogurt … and then I fried up some potatoes (like chips), which were so great with it too! And, I could cook it and eat it and get to yoga on time.

Yay for food!
