From her perspective these include being worn or carried constantly until crawling; being at the centre of the action of adult life without being the focus of the action; learning by observation and direct experience; being present for the children but letting them solicit your attention or help, rather than offering it.<br \/>\nI find some of the ideas make great sense &#8211; being with the baby, baby learning by being around the adults, wearing for the first 6+ months. Others are more challenging and great to reflect on: does this mean NOT being child-centred? what about all the stimulation and interaction proposed by modern psychologists? how to let kids learn but not do for them? what level of danger would I let my child negotiate before interfering?<\/p>\n<p>I want to talk about this with others! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interesting book &#8211; the continuum referring to our evolutionary continuum and our adaptation to the norms of that evolution.
